Need a Nerd Wellington was launched as a franchise business in 2011 by the current owner, Carl Beentjes. In 2017 we became an independent operator, retaining the Need a Nerd brand and continuing the same people focused service we’ve become known for.

Carl Beentjes bought the original franchise after a 25-year career in sales and management within a number of industries but most notably in aviation, training and technology.

We are a small team with Carl in the office and Blair, who joined in 2014, delivering the actual IT solutions to both our residential and commercial customers. In his time with Need a Nerd Wellington, Blair has attended over 12,000 customer calls and so there is very little he doesn’t know about making your tech run better. Blair is also mad about cricket.

Our third team member is Ian who provides ethernet (data) cabling solutions as well as wall mounted TVs, roof top aerials & Sky dishes. Ian is also a cricket tragic.
